Degree Completion Pathways

Transition Coordinators are working closely with department, college, and university leadership in consultation with students, faculty, and advisors to develop degree completion pathways as quickly and efficiently as possible. Some undergraduate students have chosen to change their major or degree. Some graduate students are adding a master’s degree for flexibility to transfer to another doctoral program if necessary to meet their research interests.

Course offerings for each term beginning summer 2026 through the effective date of the degree completion plan will be finalized and communicated to students. Programs plan to offer courses through spring 2029, with the exception of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design. Courses in the Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design program will be offered through spring 2028.

Students pursuing endorsements, minors and certificates in one of the impacted programs will also receive information about available courses and should meet with advisors to plan for completion of their program.

Selected courses are based on analysis of current students’ degree pathway needs. As with any course schedule, adjustments may be needed if faculty expertise or student enrollment changes unexpectedly. Any changes will be published and communicated as quickly as possible; alternative courses will be identified to support students’ degree completion.

Course Listings by Program will be published as they are available.

Students should work closely with their academic advisors, transition coordinators, and faculty advisors to develop their individualized degree completion pathway. Students should regularly engage with their advisors to ensure that they are taking the courses and meeting other degree requirements to stay on track for their degree progress. All students in an eliminated major and degree will be given priority for course registration.
